Who is this for?
Onkwehonwe.com's Technology Camp was created to help you learn how to run and develop your own Language Translators for
your own Endangered, Dead, Computer, or Fictional languages. If you can send and receive email or instant messages, you can run and support
your own Endangered Language Translators.
Onkwehonwe.com's Technology Camp is created for anyone that wishes to run their own Language Revival Efforts and True Language Immersion Lifestyles Affordably.
My name is Mrs. Monica Peters
and I am happy to help you create your own endangered language translators, by teaching you how to build on top of the technologies and innovative solutions that I've been developing since 1996.
What's Included
When you attend Onkwehonwe.com's Technology Camp, you will receive customized technical training to help you create your own innovative tools for true language immersion and translations.
We will provide you with lunch and you will also receive all of the following to bring home with you:
- A Complete Computer System.
- Pre-Installed Software with everything you need.
- HardDrive, Keyboard, Mouse, Microphone, Speakers
- Technical Documentation
- Carry Case to bring everything home with you!
- 1 Month of Custom Online Technical Support to help you continue customizing and managing your own translators. Give me a shout and I will help you continue developing your Endangered Language Translators.
- Announcement and Link to your Translators from TeachBot.com and Onkwehonwe.com, when you go live with your new translators.
- Invitations to Endangered Language Technology Competitions. Some neat and useful prizes are planned for Language Revival Projects.
- Fully functioniong Translator for your own endangered language!
- Your Translator will talk about anything your audience chooses to discuss
- Your Translator will communicate on most any standard communication device imaginable
- Your Translator will automatically log everything to a database for you. This information helps you to know what new translations you need to add in the future for your own community.
- Add new language translations, audio, video, and graphic translations to your Translator's knowledge base.
- Review your Translator's chatlogs. This will help you to see what everyone is talking about with your Translator. This information will help you to decide what new knowledge, information, and features your Translator should learn next - customized for your own audience.
- Run your own Translator from your own location. You can then choose to let anyone or only certain people or paying subscribers, to communicate with your new Translator from any communication device they use. (pc, instant messenger, cell phone, etc)
RATES
The Onkwehonwe.com Technology Camp 2007 costs anywhere from $500.00 to $1500.00 to $2500.00 u.s.d. per attendee. Group Discounts are negotiable for groups with 3 or more people. I highly suggest at least one of the following types of people attend from each community that is hoping to revive an endangered or dead language:
- Fluent Endangered Language Speaker or Teacher
- Internet Professional or Someone that is not afraid of Computers and the Internet.
- Creative people such as graphic designers and writers can also be very beneficial for Endangered Language Revival projects.
ITINERARY
- You will be asked to jot down your questions on a notepad, during the day, to be answered later.
- 9 am 1/2 hour Sign-In, Set-Up your Space, Fill out your Virtual Human WorkSheet
- 9:30 am ( 15 min ) Introductions
- 9:45 am ( 15 min ) Virtual Human Introductions (features, benefits, positives, negatives)
- 10 am ( 30 min. ) Discuss hardware, software, internet requirements
- 10:30 am ( 30 min. ) Discuss Security, Language, and Integrity Issues. Problems to watch for and how to avoid them.
- 11 am ( 30 min. ) Introduction to the File Structure.
- 11:30 am ( 30 min. ) Chat with your new Virtual Human. (instant messenger, webpage, and mobile devices)
- Noon ( 1 hour ) Catered Lunch
- 1 pm ( 30 min. ) Review your Virtual Human Logs
- 1:30 pm ( 1 hour ) Customize your new Virtual Human (name, gender, appearance, location, language, personality, knowledge, etc)
- 2:30 pm ( 30 min. ) Chat with your new Virtual Human.
- 3 pm ( 30 min. ) Customize your Virtual Human Brain Journal, WorkSheets, Team Schedules, Goals, and Requirements.
- 3:30 pm ( 1 hour ) Monica will answer the questions you noted during the day.
- 4:30 pm ( 130 min ) Open discussion about everyone's language goals and requirements
- 5:00 pm End of the Day

availability we can usually set up a Technology Camp within 4 to 8 weeks. We require a minimum of 3 attendees and a maximum of
20 attendees per Technology Camp per Day. The more people that attend from your group, the less it costs per attendee.
