I’ve installed, configured, and maintained MySQL for web applications many times since 1996. I usually use a CLI such as SSH Tectia client for creating, reading, editing, deleting, and other database administration tasks. I have used guis such as phpmyadmin in the past, but I do prefer the command line for most of my projects.
