I am a former Intel systems engineer who now resides in Southern California. I thought your experience in bots ( and possibly in Ajax ) give you an opinion on the quickest way to feasibly gleen data from craigslist.org.
The basic idea I have (and I’m sure others have had) is to monitor that web page, perhaps accross multiple locations and ad subjects, to gain leads on the latest needs of craigslisters.
By responding quickly to those leads, one could build a marketing database potential clients.

Craigslist also provides RSS (really simply syndication). You can view the RSS feeds with the latest popular web browsers (IE and Firefox). You also have hundreds of free RSS readers to choose from, for viewing RSS feeds.
